If you have ever truly tried to lose weight you know it has to begin in your mind. What you say to yourself and about yourself has a lot to do with success. I already knew that. But Helmstetter has put so much depth into it and presented ways to accomplish what we want and need to do to lose weight. Easy and interesting reading. At that moment a spring pops in the single, second-hand mattress on which I’m perched, bouncing up with a dull, resonating twang and jabbing me unexpectedly right in the behind. For a second I’m not sure whether I’m about to cry or burst into hysterical laughter. But then the first tear falls and before I know it I’m in the foetal position, my body shaking with self-pity as I clench my mouth and eyes closed against the oncoming storm of sobs. The last thing I need right now is for my three new peers downstairs to overhear my outburst, but after weeks of holding it all in I guess that, just like Yellowstone, I’ve been overdue for an eruption. All I can do is bury my face in my knees and try to muffle my crying as my tears slowly soak through my jeans.

I’m not supposed to be here. I’d had it all planned out and this - this room, this unfamiliar city, this bleak future - was not a part of it. It’s hard to believe that less than four months ago everything had been so perfect - my life had been right on track and the future had been more than bright, it had been positively gleaming. But I should have known that any light that shines too brightly is bound to burn out sooner or later, and mine was abruptly extinguished on a Wednesday afternoon in late June. It was results day, and for most of my fellow final-year uni students, it was the day that either makes us or breaks us. I just didn’t anticipate that it would break me in such a way.

Very Good Read!

The Conglomerate is a great read. I enjoyed reading this book because the characters Joey, Evan, and Cee each had a personality of their own and each chapter kept you guessing. Each girl had a talent that they brought together to form The Luxe Group Conglomerate, which they were very successful. Just at the height of their success, a series of suspicious events take place. One of the girls is living a double life that the others are unaware of. The double life comes back to haunt each of the girls and threatens their fortune. This book was definitely a page turner and it really kept me engaged with the story.

This book could have easily been a 10 star, very good book. I gave it a low rating for editing. There were so many misspelled words that it was sad. This book was over nine bucks, which it was worth for the story line, but not on editing. It's like spending 100 bucks on a steak meal, I have no problem with it as long as I can say it was the best steak I ever had. I am so tired of reading books and trying to figure out what the word was suppose to be. We as consumers need to speak up, if we support them they need to support us by giving us high quality reading material.

The Conglomerate features three friends that have bound their friendship, talents and finances to build a lucrative business...together. The strongest of the three, Joey, is focused on making sure the business grows and securing her family's future financially. While her hubby, Zay, plays the background, he's also amassing a fortune...on the down low. Cee is the sytlist and she and her husband Petey have been together for a lifetime with as slew of children as proof. Now Evan...this chick is the 'it' girl. She is a party planner and for some strange reason ish is always popping off around her.

Danielle Santiago has strutted back on stage in all of the fabulosity that is attached to her name, yes she mos def has her very own brand. Her latest contribution to the game stays true to it because she is by no means NEW to this! The Conglomerate entails beauty, fashion, money, drama, love and excitement in abundance. The vices for me was the label dropping, which was in overkill for me...I would have loved to see more character development. I can only recall one visual painting of the characters...the storyline's flow was so smooth that I was halfway finished before I realized this...so I had to go back in all my Tazzyenezz. Incomplete subplots were a bit distracting but I will attribute that to the fact that there is a sequel following this read. All in all, Danielle made that pearlized pen gleam with her signature style!!!! YAAASSSSS...she did that! This was mos def an enjoyable read. 4

Your reactions are deliberate. You can control yourself

I bought this book several years ago and was amazed at the point the author made. Simply put, emotional and other reactions are really and truly concious responses. We've just trained ourselves to rely on those "reactions" as the default. Thought is still required even if for a split-second.

This makes the phrase "He made me mad" illogical.

At least that's what I remember.

Must-Read for Teachers Everywhere about Management the Non-antagonistic Way !!!!

I have not read this book from cover-to-cover but bought it because we use these strategies in my relational school based on the philosophies of Charlotte Mason.

Control theory still gives the students choices within boundaries and creates trust and harmony in the classroom with natural consequences. The students know what is expected and should naturally/intrinsically adhere to such rich habits.

Read it if you are a first-year teacher like myself or a 31st-year teacher!!!! There is a wealth of wisdom to be found and used to make your teaching better and cause your students to be receptive to you because they "want" to, not because they "have" to.
