Very Good Read!

The Conglomerate is a great read. I enjoyed reading this book because the characters Joey, Evan, and Cee each had a personality of their own and each chapter kept you guessing. Each girl had a talent that they brought together to form The Luxe Group Conglomerate, which they were very successful. Just at the height of their success, a series of suspicious events take place. One of the girls is living a double life that the others are unaware of. The double life comes back to haunt each of the girls and threatens their fortune. This book was definitely a page turner and it really kept me engaged with the story.

This book could have easily been a 10 star, very good book. I gave it a low rating for editing. There were so many misspelled words that it was sad. This book was over nine bucks, which it was worth for the story line, but not on editing. It's like spending 100 bucks on a steak meal, I have no problem with it as long as I can say it was the best steak I ever had. I am so tired of reading books and trying to figure out what the word was suppose to be. We as consumers need to speak up, if we support them they need to support us by giving us high quality reading material.

The Conglomerate features three friends that have bound their friendship, talents and finances to build a lucrative business...together. The strongest of the three, Joey, is focused on making sure the business grows and securing her family's future financially. While her hubby, Zay, plays the background, he's also amassing a fortune...on the down low. Cee is the sytlist and she and her husband Petey have been together for a lifetime with as slew of children as proof. Now Evan...this chick is the 'it' girl. She is a party planner and for some strange reason ish is always popping off around her.

Danielle Santiago has strutted back on stage in all of the fabulosity that is attached to her name, yes she mos def has her very own brand. Her latest contribution to the game stays true to it because she is by no means NEW to this! The Conglomerate entails beauty, fashion, money, drama, love and excitement in abundance. The vices for me was the label dropping, which was in overkill for me...I would have loved to see more character development. I can only recall one visual painting of the characters...the storyline's flow was so smooth that I was halfway finished before I realized this...so I had to go back in all my Tazzyenezz. Incomplete subplots were a bit distracting but I will attribute that to the fact that there is a sequel following this read. All in all, Danielle made that pearlized pen gleam with her signature style!!!! YAAASSSSS...she did that! This was mos def an enjoyable read. 4

Your reactions are deliberate. You can control yourself

I bought this book several years ago and was amazed at the point the author made. Simply put, emotional and other reactions are really and truly concious responses. We've just trained ourselves to rely on those "reactions" as the default. Thought is still required even if for a split-second.

This makes the phrase "He made me mad" illogical.

At least that's what I remember.

Must-Read for Teachers Everywhere about Management the Non-antagonistic Way !!!!

I have not read this book from cover-to-cover but bought it because we use these strategies in my relational school based on the philosophies of Charlotte Mason.

Control theory still gives the students choices within boundaries and creates trust and harmony in the classroom with natural consequences. The students know what is expected and should naturally/intrinsically adhere to such rich habits.

Read it if you are a first-year teacher like myself or a 31st-year teacher!!!! There is a wealth of wisdom to be found and used to make your teaching better and cause your students to be receptive to you because they "want" to, not because they "have" to.

Dr. Ed Dufresne (1941And#8211;2013) was a bold, compassionate minister of the gospel. After a dramatic conversion, Dufresne immediately began serving in the ministry of helps. He later pastored for nearly fifteen years, traveled full-time for over twenty years, and founded Ed Dufresne Ministries (now Dufresne Ministries) and the World Harvest Bible Training Center, a school for the training of believers in operations of the Holy Spirit and in living a victorious life through the power of God's Word. Other outreaches of Ed Dufresne Ministries included evangelistic tent crusades that reach out to the poor and needy through distributing food, clothing, and toys. In 2013, Ed Dufresne died tragically in a plane crash at age 72. Ed Dufresne's wife, Nancy, now carries on the ministry.

The sciences were somewhat relevant, even though some were too in depth. The actual DAT focuses on broadness rather than depth. Meaning you should make sure you know just the general info about everything..As for the PAT, do not even try the ones in this book, they are level:1 and the DAT's are level:9000, the practice PAT are nothing compared to the actual DAT.

Lesser Quality for the Average Reader

The Human Experience is an experience on how a text can totally lack depth and new ideas. Firstly, the book is good for a standard World History class with a concentration on Europe. The text is also accompanied by a wonderful array of technology from laserdiscs to CD-ROMs that can be implemented as reinforcement for teaching the basic concepts. It's blatantly obvious that where the text is week, the immense multimedia activities were planned to compensate. More time should have been allocated to perfecting the text, rather than tackling the latest technological advance.
This current edition contains text that has not been significantly altered since the 1992 edition, if not earlier. If you are looking for a text with easy to follow chronological format--move on. This book provides the reader with diluted and out of order history which does nothing except grace a classroom with twenty-five confused faces. For students to easily grasp the events of the past and the time periods between them, chronological order is vital. For example, Farah and Karls have created units that overlap significant periods of time where the "Royal Power and Conflict" chapter covers 1500-1750 and then the next chapter "Empires of Asia" covers 1350-1850. The subjects are completely different, yet they cannot be easily compared as being in the same time period because of the arrangement of the text.
Asides from giving a total Eurocentric view (this book is really a basic Western Civilization text that was made for the standard high school student), what is mentioned about Asia is minor with major points of history being left out. If the history of Africa, Asia, or Latin American is part of your lesson plan, I would recommend an outside source.
Finally, this text lacks the depth that I have encountered with others (i.e. West Educational Publishing's World History: The Human Odyssey). It is truly a sad day when students complain about the heaviness of the book and the teacher responds it's all the pictures. When comparing the past editions, one can see that the book was obviously enlarged to have more pictures and the "extra stuff" mentioned above.
Overall, for the average reader, World History: The Human Experience's reading experience is a bearable one. But, if you're looking for depth or enrichment--go elsewhere. I give the work 2 of 5 because it meets the expectations for a standard reader, yet falls far short of its potential.

Not as wonderful as expected

I am a grade nine student and I feel like this book could be better. It is mainly centered on Europe and the order of the book makes it more confusing than it needs to be. For example, in one paragraph, the book will talk about a ruler that died in 645 B.C. In the next chapter, it will continue to talk about the already deceased ruler, and what he did 20 years prior. If you can handle this, order away. If just that confuses you, I'd stay away from this one.

Raymond Ruddon's book may be ten years past publication, but it is the first book I would recommend for a person seeking a reliable overview of the basic nature of cancer and cancer research. Ruddon gives an easily readable account of the history of cancer biology, emphasising the mechanics and characteristics of many forms of cancer and cancerous stages. The clarity of his discussion engages the reader. I wish that he would be willing to rewrite a new edition, because I know of no other single volume that describes the issues of cancer research so well and cogently for the student and interested layperson.

About the Author
John M. Scheb was born in Orlando, Florida, in 1926. He entered the practice of law in 1950. He served as associate municipal judge in Sarasota, Florida, from 1957 to 1959. From 1959 to 1970, he served as City Attorney for the city of Sarasota. In 1974, he was appointed to the Florida District Court of Appeal, second district, a position he held until his retirement in 1992. Judge Scheb holds the B.A. from Florida Southern College, the J.D. from the University of Florida, and the LL.M. from the University of Virginia.

John M. Scheb, II attended the University of Florida, where he received a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in political science. He is now Professor and Head of Political Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he specializes in public law, courts, and the judicial process. Professor Scheb has authored numerous articles in professional journals and is coauthor of several other textbooks, including: AN INTRODUCTION TO THE AMERICAN LEGAL SYSTEM, 3rd Edition (Wolters Kluwer, 2013), LAW AND ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS (Thomson/Wadsworth, 2005), and AMERICAN CONSTITUTIONAL LAW, 6th Edition (Wadsworth/Cengage, 2014).

A good book for criminal justice majors

This book is easy to understand. I like that it has objectives for each chapter because this helps you to get the point for that chapter. The objectives for the chapters also makes a good study guide.
